Community Governance Review Phase 2 Consultation

A Community Governance Review allows us to review and make appropriate changes to the existing governance arrangements of Parish and Town Councils including altering boundaries, changing the name of a parish, changing the number of councillors, and abolishing, creating, merging or altering parishes.

During the summer in 2023 we undertook a consultation that identified requests from parishes who wanted to make changes to their Community Governance arrangements, following this we carried out Phase 1 of the required consultation process which focused on proposals that were potentially possible. We are now carrying out a second phase of consultation which focuses on the draft recommendations formed following analysis of the outcome of the first phase of consultation, this will then be considered against the appropriate criteria and feed into final decisions.

Not every area of West Northamptonshire is affected, but we do want to hear from those living in neighbouring areas and other interested parties, on the most suitable ways of representing the people in the parishes identified in the review.
