Who we are & what we do
East Hunsbury Parish Council was created on the 1st April 2015. The parish was previously part of the much larger parish of Wootton & East Hunsbury, and two new, separate, parishes were formed after a Community Governance Review.
The inaugural meeting of East Hunsbury Parish Council was held on 21st May 2015.
Our Mission Statement
East Hunsbury Parish Council will work to maintain East Hunsbury as a safe, attractive and welcoming area to live, work and visit. We will always strive to ensure that local residents have a voice in parish matters, and that our performance is transparent and clearly communicated to them at all times.
Our agreed Aims & Objectives (in order of priority):
- Engagement with our parishioners
- To manage the parish council's funds fairly and cost effectively to the utmost benefit of the parish
- Improvement in parks, open spaces and general environment
- To enhance the health and wellbeing of our parishioners
- Working to reduce traffic issues and crime
- Maximum usage of the Blacky More Community Centre.
East Hunsbury Parish Council is made up of 12 elected councillors who serve for a four year term, or are co-opted when a vacancy arises. All Councillors are holders of public office and give their time voluntarily.
Parish Council elections last took place in May 2021.
Council Meetings - Full council meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, except for August when no meetings are held. See our Calendar of Meetings for more information about dates, times and locations of our meetings. Meetings are open to everyone to attend and we would be pleased to welcome you along.
